Vimeo Video Translator hear any Vimeo video in your language.
DubTab translates Vimeo videos as they play — an AI voice dubs the speaker in your language, with translated captions on screen. On vimeo.com, inside a course or members area, or at a live event: no link to paste, nothing to download, no captions needed.
Free 15-minute trial · No credit card · Works on videos without captions
On Vimeo, translation is the uploader's call. Now it's yours.
The CC and Audio menus only list what the uploader added — often English captions, sometimes nothing at all.
Translation sites want a link or a file. A lesson locked to a course site won't play anywhere else, and the uploader decides whether it can be downloaded at all.
So you pause, rewind and look words up — and an hour of training takes the whole evening.
An AI voice dubs the speaker in your language while the video plays, with translated captions when you want to read along.
It works right where the video plays: vimeo.com, a course site, a members area or a live event page.
No captions needed and nothing to download — DubTab listens to the audio in your tab.

2. Play the video where you always do
On vimeo.com, inside your course, or on the event page. No link to copy, nothing to download.
3. Turn on dub & captions
Pick your language once. The AI voice and translated captions start within seconds.
Made for the videos Vimeo is used for
No captions needed
DubTab listens to the audio itself, so a Vimeo video with no captions — or English-only captions — translates just the same.
Wherever the player is
vimeo.com, a course site, a members area, a company portal or an event page: DubTab follows the sound in your tab, not the website.
Real-time AI dubbing
The voice speaks while the video plays. Nothing to download, no file to upload, no render to wait for.
Bilingual captions
The original and the translation side by side — handy for the software terms, names and numbers you want to see written down.
The original voice stays underneath
The speaker keeps playing at a lower volume, so you still hear tone and emphasis. You set the balance.
In sync for hours
Auto catch-up keeps the dub aligned through a long training, and DubTab only counts time while it's translating.
What people watch on Vimeo with DubTab
Videos you can only watch where the creator put them — and usually in English.
Paid courses in a Vimeo player
Lessons on a creator's own site or members area, playing in Vimeo's player. Translate the course you bought, right where it is.
Software & technical training
3D, editing, engineering and tuning tutorials that run for hours — follow every step in your language, with the terms on screen in both.
Training videos from work
Onboarding, product demos and recorded trainings your company shares as Vimeo links — no waiting for someone to subtitle them.
Talks, webinars & live events
Conference sessions, webinars and events streamed on Vimeo — hear the speakers in your language, a few seconds behind.
Yoga, wellness & spiritual teachings
Classes, retreats and teachings sold as videos. Listen in your language and keep your eyes on the movement, not on subtitles.
Short films & documentaries
Festival shorts, independent documentaries and making-of films that rarely get dubbed — watch them in your language.
Doesn't Vimeo translate videos itself?
It can — for the uploader. Vimeo gives the people who upload videos tools for translated subtitles, AI dubbing and extra audio tracks, depending on their plan. As a viewer, you get only what they added: the CC menu and, under the gear icon, Audio. If your language isn't there, there's no button that makes it appear.
| What the uploader added | What you get in Vimeo's player | DubTab |
|---|---|---|
| A dubbed audio track in your language | Pick it under the gear icon → Audio — use it | Not needed for that video — use theirs |
| Captions in the video's own language only | Read along in that language — nothing to switch to | ✓ Dub + captions in your language |
| No captions, no extra audio | Nothing to turn on | ✓ Works anyway — DubTab listens to the audio |
| A video locked to a course site or members area | The same menus — and the link won't play anywhere else | ✓ Translated right on that page — no link, no download |
| A live event | Translated captions only if the organizer switched them on | ✓ Live dub + captions, a few seconds behind |
Vimeo's translation tools belong to the uploader.
Translated subtitles, AI dubbing and extra audio tracks are all set up by whoever uploaded the video — and what they can use depends on their plan. Few creators translate every video into every language their viewers speak. DubTab works from your side of the screen: the video you're watching, in the language you pick.
A lot of Vimeo videos never play on vimeo.com.
Course sites, members areas, company portals and event pages show Vimeo's player inside their own pages, and uploaders can lock a video so it only plays there — open the link anywhere else and Vimeo shows a privacy message instead. DubTab doesn't need the link: it listens to the tab where the video is already playing.
Watch now — not after a render.
Translation sites ask for a file or a link, then make you wait for the finished version. DubTab translates while the video plays: the dub starts within seconds, runs a few seconds behind the speaker, and auto catch-up keeps it there. Nothing is downloaded or copied.
